Army Patrol Hits Landmine in JK’s Poonch; One Killed, Two Injured

SRINAGAR: An Agniveer died while two other soldiers were injured in a landmine blast in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, officials said on Friday.

An official said that the incident occurred when an Army team was on a routine patrol near a forward post.

He said that while patrolling, the soldiers accidentally stepped on a landmine, resulting in the death of one soldier and injuries to two others.

Meanwhile, the Army’s White Knight Corps paid tribute to the deceased soldier.

“All ranks pay solemn tribute to Agniveer Lalit Kumar of 7 JAT Regiment, who made the supreme sacrifice while on an area domination patrol in the general area of Krishna Ghati brigade on 25 July 2025, following a mine blast. We stand with the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the Corps posted on X. (KNO)
