UCSL Invites Applications For Executive Trainee Posts In Mechanical, Electrical, Civil And IT Disciplines

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited, has issued an official notification for the recruitment of 08 Executive Trainees. The available positions are in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Information Technology disciplines.

As per the notification released on 21 July 2025, the upper age limit for all posts is 27 years as on 20 August 2025. Selected candidates will undergo one year of training with a monthly stipend of ₹50,000. After successful completion, they will be appointed as Assistant Managers in E-1 Grade with a total monthly emolument of ₹77,200. The final selection will be based on a two-phase process involving an online test and interview.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil posts, candidates must have a Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline with at least 65% marks from a recognized University. For IT discipline, candidates must have either a Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology Engineering or a Master’s Degree in Computer Applications, Computer Science, or IT with minimum 65% marks. Valid certifications in programming, networking, ERP or DBMS are desirable for the IT post.

The maximum age limit is 27 years as on 20 August 2025. Candidates should be born on or after 21 August 1998. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST, and as per GOI guidelines for PwBD.

Application Fee:
The application fee for the recruitment process is ₹1000 for General and OBC candidates. SC/ST and PwBD candidates applying for IT post are exempted from fee payment. The fee must be paid online using Debit/Credit card, Net Banking, Wallets, or UPI.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be on the basis of an online objective test followed by Group Discussion, Writing Skills and Personal Interview. The online test will have 60 questions covering General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, and Subject Knowledge. The second phase will be conducted at UCSL, Malpe and will carry 40 marks.
