JRF/SRF Posts At IIT Jammu, Check Qualification Required And Apply Now

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has released a notification for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for a research project titled “Implantable Pacemaker Chip (iPACE-CHIP)” under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology’s Chip to Start-up (C2S) initiative. The project will be executed by the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Jammu.

According to the official notification, there are a total of 02 vacancies. The posts are initially for a period of one year and may be extended depending on performance or the duration of the project. The age limit for JRF is 30 years, while it is 32 years for SRF, with relaxations as per government rules. The monthly salary is Rs. 37,000 for JRF and Rs. 42,000 for SRF, along with applicable HRA.

Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates must have M.E./M.Tech./MS(R) or equivalent in ECE, EE, Microelectronics, VLSI Design, Embedded Systems or related subjects with at least 65% marks. Those with B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. in relevant disciplines must also have 65% marks and a valid GATE/NET score. Candidates awaiting final results are also eligible to apply.

Age Limit:
Upper age limit is 30 years for JRF and 32 years for SRF. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH/women candidates as per government norms.

Other Requirements:
Candidates with experience in Verilog/VHDL and EDA tools such as Cadence and Synopsys will be preferred. For SRF posts, a minimum of two years of research experience in the VLSI domain is mandatory. The selection committee will decide the position (JRF or SRF) based on skills and performance.
