SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of planned power shutdowns across various districts, including Srinagar, Baramulla, and Bandipora, to facilitate essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades on high-voltage transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the 33KV GIS Tengpora–Exhibition line will be shut down on July 27, 2025, to enable the relocation of old wooden frames inside PCR Batamaloo. Consequently, the 33/11KV Receiving Station at Danderkhah will remain non-operational, affecting power supply to Batamaloo, PCR, Hari Singh High Street, Baranpather, and surrounding areas from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

In a similar development, the 33KV Amargarh–Arampora line will undergo shutdowns on July 24 and 29, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM for conductor shifting on newly erected poles. This will result in the disconnection of Shair Colony, Panzipora, Arampora, Bugoo, and nearby localities, with Receiving Stations at Shair Colony, Panzipora, Arampora, and Bugoo remaining off.

Additionally, a shutdown of the 33KV Amargarh–Bandipora line is scheduled for July 26, 2025, affecting the Watlab, Duroo, and Tujjar Sharief Receiving Stations. Power supply to these areas will be unavailable from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Further, a shutdown of the 33KV Amargarh–Nowpora line has been scheduled for August 2, 2025, impacting power to Nowpora, Achabal, Seelo, Bomai, and nearby areas during the same time window.

The KPDCL has urged residents to cooperate with the authorities during the temporary outages and assured that the upgrades are aimed at strengthening the region’s power infrastructure and improving long-term service reliability.
