Rajouri, Jul 19: The Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri on Saturday conducted an enforcement drive along the National Highway in line with directives from higher authorities to curb traffic violations.
During the operation, 35 challans were issued for various breaches of the Motor Vehicles Act. Eight vehicles were seized for serious violations, including four for operating without speed-limiting devices, one without a valid permit, two without valid driver’s licenses, and one without a valid fitness certificate.
A total fine of Rs 67,000 was collected on the spot.
Further, three recommendations for suspension of driver’s licenses were submitted.
The ARTO reiterated the Transport Department’s commitment to road safety and the enforcement of traffic regulations. Officials said similar drives will continue to deter habitual offenders and promote safer driving practices.
