JKCA invites applications for scorer training workshop

Srinagar, Jul 5: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced a Scorer Workshop to be held in both Jammu & Srinagar this month.

The workshop, as per a notification termed a ‘Scorers Clinic’, aimed at training and certifying individuals for official cricket scoring duties.

As per the notification, the clinic will span five days and will conclude with an examination. Only those candidates who clear the test will be eligible for future scoring assignments with the JKCA.

The eligibility criteria as per the notification for the candidates are that the age must be between 20 and 40 years, the minimum educational qualification is Class 12, and they must have basic knowledge of cricket, with preference given to former cricketers.

The notification has asked interested candidates to submit their applications in a sealed envelope at the JKCA offices in Jammu or Srinagar, or email them at cajckca@gmail.com, by 6:00 PM on July 9, 2025.

Applications must be accompanied by supporting documents, including proof of age, educational qualifications, documents validating cricket knowledge/experience, and a notarised affidavit confirming availability for scorer duties when called upon.

The JKCA, in the notification, has mentioned that it reserves the right to reject applications without assigning any reason.

As per the JKCA, an Umpires Workshop in both Jammu & Srinagar is already underway, a clinic aimed at identifying and training aspiring cricket umpires in the region.

As per the official notification, the workshop will run for five days and conclude with an examination on the sixth day. Only candidates who successfully clear the exam will be considered for future umpiring assignments under the JKCA banner.
