SRINAGAR: A fresh search operation has been started by security forces on Thursday morning to flush out the hiding terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district.
Earlier, on Wednesday an exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists at Kanzal Mandu area of the Kuchal-Chatroo belt, officials said.
The encounter began when police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the suspected area following information about the presence of terrorists.
Meanwhile, reinforcements have been rushed to the area to strengthen the cordon and search operation which was going on. The operation is backed by drones and sniffer dogs, reports Daily Excelsior.
It is pertinent to mention that this is the second encounter in the Jammu region in the past one week. Notably, on June 26, a Pakistan-based JeM terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Udhampur district.
