Aasif Manzoor stars as JK Xi Shopian defeats Sky Stars Budgam

Srinagar, Jun 30: In a gripping encounter at the TRC Ground, Srinagar, JK Xi Shopian emerged victorious by 14 runs over Sky Stars Budgam in the ongoing Kashmir Cup 2025 league round, with a sensational all-round performance from Aasif Manzoor.

As per a statement issued on Monday, opting to bat first after winning the toss, JK Xi Shopian posted a competitive total of 149/8 in their 20 overs. Aasif Manzoor led the charge with a blistering unbeaten 39 off 22 balls, hammering two fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 177.27. He was ably supported by Owais Razak, who smacked 27 off 15, and Umar Gul with 28 off 22.

Sky Stars Budgam’s Javid Jaddu put up a spirited bowling effort, claiming 4 wickets for 23 runs in his four overs, while Shahid Shabbir picked up two crucial scalps.

In reply, Sky Stars Budgam were bowled out for 135 in 19 overs. Despite a fighting 35 from Shabir Lefty and a late cameo by Javid Jaddu (15*), they fell short of the target. Aasif Manzoor was the wrecker-in-chief with the ball as well, grabbing 4 wickets for just 18 runs, capping off a memorable all-round display. Gowher Leggy and Faizan Rouf chipped in with two wickets each.

Aasif Manzoor was deservedly named the standout performer of the match for his dominant show with both bat and ball.
