GMC Handwara Faculty Posts On Academic Arrangement Basis – Apply For Professor, Associate & Assistant Professor

Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara has invited applications from eligible non-PSC and retired candidates for engagement on academic arrangement basis against faculty positions. The recruitment is governed under S.O. 364 of 2020 dated 27-11-2020.

According to Advertisement No. 10-GMCH of 2025 dated 19 June 2025, the posts will be filled initially for one year, extendable up to six years based on performance or until regular selection is made through PSC/DPC. Faculty positions are open in various disciplines as per recruitment rules.

Interested applicants are required to download the prescribed application form from the official website of GMC Handwara and submit the completed form along with necessary documents and a bank draft of Rs. 500 to the Registrar Academics, GMC Handwara.

Eligibility Criteria:

Eligibility for each post is governed as per Government Order No. 672-JK(HME) of 2022 dated 19-09-2022 (available on https://hme.jk.gov.in/). The maximum age limit is 67 years for medical disciplines and 63 years for dentistry. Applicants must have the requisite qualification and teaching experience as specified in the order. Additional weightage is given for research publications, books authored, and seminar/conference participation.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria must download the application form from the official website www.gmchandwara.co.in. The filled application form along with supporting documents and a bank draft of Rs. 500 in favour of Chief Accounts Officer, GMC Handwara (J&K Bank only) should be submitted at the office of the Registrar Academics, GMC Handwara.

Application Fee:
The application fee for the process is Rs. 500, payable via bank draft from J&K Bank only.

Selection Process:
The selection of candidates will be based on eligibility, experience, and academic performance. Preference may be given based on publications, presentations, and additional academic contributions.
