2 Army personnel die in accidental explosion along LoC in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Jun 10: Two Army personnel lost their lives after sustaining grievous injuries in an accidental explosion near the Line of Control in the Kamalkote sector of Uri, officials said on Wednesday morning.

News agency GNS citing officials reported that the duo suffered critical injuries in the explosion and were immediately evacuated to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for specialised treatment.

Despite medical efforts, both soldiers succumbed to their injuries, they said.

The deceased have been identified as Chavan Vikram Balakrishna of Airoli in Maharashtra and Arjun Jadhav Rajindra, a resident of Shahpur area of Karad tehsil in Maharashtra’s Satara district.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being ascertained.
