SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department, has released the Round-1 college and major allotment list for Undergraduate admissions for the Academic Session 2026–27 on the centralised admission portal [https://jkadmissions.in](https://jkadmissions.in).

Officials said allotted candidates can log in to the portal to check their allotment status and complete admission formalities, including online fee payment and document verification at their respective colleges.

Candidates have been given the option to either confirm their seat by paying the full admission fee or opt for upgradation by paying a Rs 1,000 fee to be considered for higher preferences in the next round. Those confirming admission will be required to report to their allotted colleges for physical verification of original documents within the stipulated schedule, while upgradation candidates are not required to visit colleges at this stage.

Students not allotted any seat in Round-1 have been allowed to revise their preferences ahead of Round-2, while unregistered candidates will be considered in the Spot Round against vacant seats. Revised timelines for Round-2, Spot Round, fee submission, verification and commencement of classes have been made available on the portal.

Authorities have also announced that induction programmes will be conducted in colleges to familiarise students with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework and the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP), including academic flexibility features such as major-minor switching, postgraduate eligibility through minors, and direct PhD entry under the Honours-with-Research track.

Director Colleges Dr Sheikh Ajaz Bashir has urged candidates to complete admission formalities within the prescribed deadlines to avoid cancellation of seats and advised students to regularly check the official admission portal for updates.

The Minor subject allocation will be finalised by colleges after the Spot Round and before the start of classes, based on merit and student preferences.
