A makeshift wooden bridge over Nallah Hudd in Kralpora area of Kupwara has been giving tough time to people for several years but authorities are yet to construct a concrete bridge so that the hardships being faced by people may end.

“The wooden bridge being used to cross the nallah poses a threat to the people. Children, elderly and women feel insecure while moving on this bridge. We are suffering badly in the absence of a proper concrete bridge,” a local said.

The bridge connects several villages including Rishgund, Dardsun, Gazeryal, Aloosa, Main market Kralpora, bus stand Kralpora and several other villages but still authorities are not coming up with a concrete bridge here making things worse for the locals.

Locals said that the makeshift bridge was constructed after they pooled funds in 2014 but now its condition has deteriorated posing threat to the commuters. The residents said that they have moved from pillar to post during the last few years for redressal of their grievance but to no avail.

Kralpora Traders Federation President, Mohammad Amin told Greater Kashmir that people have been suffering from last one decade but authorities seem to be insensitive towards the hardships being faced by the people on daily basis. He demanded that this long pending demand of people may be addressed soon.
