SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has decided to reduce the size of his official convoy by half following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for austerity and fuel-saving measures, officials said on Wednesday.

Officials at Lok Bhawan confirmed that the Lieutenant Governor had taken the decision in response to the Prime Minister’s call for austerity.

“The decision has been taken in line with the Prime Minister’s recent emphasis on adopting austerity measures and promoting fuel conservation during official movement and government functioning,” an official at Lok Bhawan said.

Officials said the reduction in convoy size is aimed at ensuring more efficient use of resources while maintaining essential security protocols.

As reported by earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed for austerity measures and stressed the importance of fuel saving and efficient governance practices across different levels of administration. (JKNS)
