KPDCL Announces Multiple Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir Division | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed that multiple scheduled shutdowns will be carried out across several transmission lines in Kashmir division for maintenance works, resulting in temporary power disruptions in various areas.

According to the schedule, shutdown of the GIS Theed–Shalimar line will be observed on May 14, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting power supply to Theed, Chandpora, Dara, Darbagh, SKUAST, Tailbal, Arabal, Deewan Colony and adjoining areas.

Besides, shutdown of the Cheshmashahi–Overhead Double Circuit TRC/Centaur line will be observed on May 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting 33 KV BB Cant Tap line, F1 and F2 Centaur and adjoining areas.

On May 17, 2026, shutdown of the 33 KV Bemina–BB Shah line and Bemina–Fatehkadal line will be carried out from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting Basant Bagh, Maisuma, Naisarak, BB Shah, X-Change, KK Moula, Nowpora, Bohri Kadal, Gousia Hospital, Car Parking, Babdemb, Bishembar Nagar, Deputy Chief Minister residence and adjoining areas.

On the same day, shutdown of the Habbak–Hazratbal line will also be observed from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, impacting Hazratbal, Umer Colony, Rangpora, BARC, Habbak, Kashmir University, Nigeen, Kanitar, NIT, Shrine and adjoining areas.

Further, shutdown of the 33 KV Wanganpora–Kawdara and Wanganpora–Shahpora lines will be observed on May 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting Kawdara, Nawakadal, Rajouri Kadal, Bachidarwaza, Zadibal, Firdous Colony, Mughal Masjid, Jamia Masjid and adjoining areas.

On the same date, shutdown of the 33 KV Habbak–Lalbazar line will be carried out from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting Lalbazar, Molvi Stop, Botshah Mohalla, Sikh Bagh, Amdakadal, Botakadal, Baghwanpora and adjoining areas.

Also on May 20, 2026, shutdown of the 33 KV GIS Khanyar–Kathidarwaza line will be observed from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, impacting Saidakadal, Kathidarwaza, Mir Behri, Naidyar, Pokhribal and adjoining areas.

On May 21, 2026, shutdown of the 33 KV Pampore–Badamibagh line and 33 KV Pampore–Panthachowk line will be carried out from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, affecting Sonwar, Shivpora, Indranagar, Badamibagh, Water Supply Station Tangnar, Panthachowk, Lasjan, Summerbugh, Government Press, Flour Mills and adjoining areas.

In addition, shutdown of the 33 KV Nehalpora–Gulmarg line will be observed on May 16 and May 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, affecting Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Kulhama, Mulgam, Khyber, Base Station, Cable Car, Chandil, Kralweth, Malpora, Ragawali and adjoining areas.

The KPDCL stated that the shutdowns are necessary for maintenance and upgrading works to ensure improved power supply stability across the network. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled outages.
