Ganderbal, May 10: Ganderbal Police has issued a public advisory after a rise in water level and strong currents in River Sindh, cautioning residents, tourists and visitors against approaching riverbanks in vulnerable areas.
The advisory says that people should avoid bathing, swimming or taking photographs near the river, as fast-moving currents at several locations may lead to serious accidents.
Authorities have particularly warned youngsters against venturing close to the river for recreational activity. Parents and guardians have been asked to maintain close supervision over children and ensure they stay away from river edges.
Police have urged the public to cooperate with the administration and adhere to safety advisories in order to prevent any loss of life.
