SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday, in coordination with the Drug and Food Control Department, sealed a medical shop after it was found operating without a valid licence during an inspection drive carried out across pharmacies and medical stores in the city.
Officials said the action was taken during a joint inspection at Mir Behri Dal, where a medical shop operated by Kifayat Hussain of Kand Mohalla was found functioning in violation of licensing norms. The shop was subsequently sealed following legal procedures.
Authorities said further legal action under relevant provisions of law has been initiated against the violator.
Police said the inspection drive was part of ongoing efforts to curb unlawful pharmaceutical practices and prevent misuse of medicinal substances.
Srinagar Police reiterated that similar enforcement drives would continue across the district as part of the broader campaign against drug abuse and illegal sale of pharmaceutical products.
