DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir bereaved, father passes away

Srinagar, May 07: Mohammad Sultan Mir, father of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, passed away after a prolonged illness, at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, family sources informed on Thursday. He was 78.

The deceased, a resident of Iskanderpora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, had been undergoing treatment at SKIMS and breathed his last at the hospital this morning.

News of his demise is being widely mourned across official, social, and public circles, with people from different walks of life expressing grief and extending condolences to the bereaved family.

The funeral prayers to the deceased are scheduled to be held at 5 PM at his native village Iskanderpora in Budgam.

Many officers, civil society members, relatives, and acquaintances have prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the family, particularly DIG Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, during the hour of grief.
