Mamata Banerjee Responsible for Collapse of Law & Order: Gaurav

JK News Today

Jammu, May 7: BJP Spokesperson and Convenor, International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta strongly condemned the brutal killing of Chandranath Rath, personal assistant to senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, terming it a “cold-blooded political murder” and a glaring example of the complete collapse of law and order under the rule of Mamata Banerjee.

Gaurav Gupta said the incident exposes the “violent and fascist mindset” of the Trinamool Congress leadership, which is unable to digest the growing support for the Bharatiya Janata Party across West Bengal. He said the atmosphere of fear, intimidation, and political killings created during Mamata Banerjee’s tenure has pushed the state into anarchy and lawlessness.

Referring to statements made by BJP leaders following the incident, Gupta said the murder appears to be a pre-planned conspiracy aimed at provoking unrest and derailing the democratic transition in the state after the BJP’s massive electoral gains. “The people of West Bengal have rejected the politics of violence and appeasement. Frustrated by defeat, TMC leaders are resorting to bloodshed and terror tactics,” he said.

He further stated that Chandranath Rath, a former Indian Air Force personnel known for his calm and disciplined nature, became a victim of TMC’s vendetta politics. “This is not just the murder of an individual but an attack on democracy itself. The entire nation is watching how political opponents are being targeted in West Bengal,” Gupta added.

Launching a sharp attack on Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, Gupta alleged that the ruling dispensation wanted BJP workers to react violently so that chaos could be created ahead of the new political developments in the state. “But BJP workers have shown restraint and maturity because the party believes in democracy, development, and constitutional order,” he said.

Gupta asserted that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the BJP government will ensure strict action against every person involved in the murder. “No criminal will be spared. The era of political protection to goons and anti-social elements is coming to an end,” he said.

He further remarked that Mamata Banerjee’s refusal to accept public sentiment and her statements about not resigning reflect her “dictatorial mindset” and desperation to cling to power despite losing moral authority to govern.

Calling upon the people of West Bengal to stand united against political violence, Gaurav Gupta said the BJP remains committed to restoring peace, security, democracy, and development in the state.
