Police Attach Rs 3.5 Crore Properties of Drug Accused in Srinagar | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Police in Srinagar district have attached immovable properties worth approximately Rs 3.5 crore linked to accused persons involved in a narcotics case registered under the NDPS Act.

The action was carried out by Police Station Sangam under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 56/2025 registered under Sections 8/20 and 29 of the Act.

According to police, two residential properties located in Kreshbal, Noorbagh, Srinagar, have been attached after being identified as assets generated through proceeds of drug trafficking.

One of the attached properties includes a double-storey residential house along with one kanal of land belonging to Shakeel Ahmad Ganie, valued at over Rs 2 crore.

The second property, also a double-storey residential house with one kanal of land, belongs to Farooq Ahmad Mir and is valued at approximately Rs 1.5 crore.

Police said the properties have been established as illegally acquired assets linked to narcotics smuggling activities.

Officials stated that the action forms part of efforts to dismantle drug networks by targeting not only individuals involved but also assets derived from illegal trade.

Police have urged the public to cooperate and share information related to drug trafficking. [KNT]
