Selection Process of SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026

The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Computer Based Examination (CBT)
2. Skill Test in Stenography

Computer Based Examination Details:

• Duration: 2 Hours
• Negative Marking: 0.25 marks for each wrong answer

Skill Test Details:

• Dictation Speed:
  Grade C: 100 words per minute
  Grade D: 80 words per minute
• Dictation Duration: 10 minutes
• Transcription Time:
  English: 40–50 minutes
  Hindi: 55–65 minutes

Salary Details

• Stenographer Grade C: Pay Level 6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400)
• Stenographer Grade D: Pay Level 4 (₹25,500 – ₹81,100)

Additional allowances such as DA, HRA and TA are provided as per government rules.
