
SRINAGAR: A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF), Kashmir, led by Provincial President Anver Hussain Wani, on Tuesday met the Director School Education Kashmir and submitted a detailed charter of demands.
The delegation raised key issues, including transfers of teachers from hard zones, rationalisation of teaching staff, expediting promotions of teachers to Masters, and filling vacancies of Headmasters, Principals, Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Lecturers.
The forum also highlighted concerns related to vocational trainers, Cluster Resource Coordinators (CRCs), and non-teaching staff.
Later, the JKGLTF delegation participated in a special programme organised by PM Package Teachers in the Union Territory. In a significant development, the PM Package Teachers’ organisation extended full support to JKGLTF and formally joined hands with it, signalling a united approach towards addressing teachers’ issues.
The delegation included Sahil Manzoor (UT Treasurer), Ghulam Qadir Jeelani (UT Spokesperson), Fayaz Ahmad Mir (Core Member), Mohammad Iqbal (District President Anantnag), Jaffar Jehangir (District President Kupwara), Shabir Ahmad, Mohammad Anwar Lone, Javid Ahmad War and Irfan Ahmad Malla.
JKGLTF reiterated its commitment to continue its efforts for safeguarding the legitimate rights of teachers and ensuring quality education for students.
