JAMMU — In a continued effort to bridge the gap between the administration and the public, a high-level delegation of the Apni Party, led by Provincial President (J&K) and former minister S. Manjit Singh, visited Ward 57, Preet Nagar today to interact with local residents and assess the mounting civic challenges in the area.
Residents Highlight Growing Civic Neglect
During the visit, ward members and local residents apprised the Provincial President of several pressing issues that have been significantly impacting their quality of life. The primary grievances raised included:
Persistent Water Logging: Inefficient drainage systems have led to frequent water accumulation, making movement difficult and posing health risks.
Stray Dog Menace: Residents expressed deep concern over the rising population of stray dogs, citing safety fears for children and the elderly.
Inadequate Street Lighting: Large patches of the locality remain in darkness after sunset, raising security concerns and increasing the risk of accidents.
Commitment to Resolution
After giving the locals a patient hearing, S. Manjit Singh expressed his concern over the lack of basic amenities in the ward. He assured the residents that the Apni Party remains committed to the welfare of the common man and will not remain silent on these issues.
”The grievances of the people of Preet Nagar are genuine and require immediate intervention. We will take up these matters—specifically the drainage and lighting infrastructure—with the concerned departmental authorities and the Municipal Corporation to ensure a swift resolution,” Singh stated.
