
SRINAGAR: The Deputy Commissioner of Poonch on Sunday announced the cancellation of a scheduled Civil Defence mock drill, stating that there is no cause for public concern as the exercise was part of routine preparedness measures.

In a post on X, the Deputy Commissioner said the mock drill planned from April 20 to April 24 by Civil Defence and SDRF has been called off.
He clarified that the exercise was standard readiness training aimed at enhancing preparedness and coordination, adding that there was “no cause for alarm” and urging people to remain safe and vigilant.
Earlier, the district administration had issued a communication regarding the conduct of a Civil Defence air raid and blackout mock exercise across the district during the same period, intended to strengthen emergency response mechanisms.
