Jammu, 16, April 2026: Bari Brahmana (Samba): Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and former Minister, S. Manjit Singh, has accused the National Conference and the Congress Party of failing to fulfil their promises.

According to a press release, a block-level meeting was organised by the Apni Party at Bari Brahmana. The meeting was chaired by former Minister S. Manjit Singh. Leaders and workers discussed the ongoing development and unemployment issues.

Addressing the meeting, the former Minister referred to the promises made by the National Conference and the Congress Party in Jammu and Kashmir before the Assembly elections, which have largely remained unfulfilled, leaving the people in a difficult situation.

He said that the government is missing on the ground, and that development exists only in press statements, creating a disconnect between the people and the government due to a lack of administrative initiatives.

At the same time, he criticised the BJP for its inability to deliver for the people of Jammu. “The BJP has apparently betrayed the people of Jammu, as business, industry, and employment have continued to suffer,” he said, adding that the rhetoric of discrimination against Jammu was used to secure votes and mislead the people.

He urged the people to support the Apni Party and hold both the government and opposition legislators accountable in Jammu and Kashmir for their failures.

In the backdrop of the government’s failures on multiple fronts, he asked party leaders to regularly conduct door-to-door outreach and highlight the suffering of the people, including issues such as compensation for flood-affected people, farmers, and villagers, and the need for a special recruitment drive for border residents in the defence forces and J&K Police.

The meeting was also addressed by Provincial Vice President and ST President, Saleem Alam.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Block President, Bari Brahmana, Babu Ram Bhagat; District Organiser, Pushp Raj; SC District President, Samba, Mohammed Yaqoob; and other block committee office bearers.
