
Jammu, Apr 06: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Shiv Kumar Sharma on Monday formally assumed charge as the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur–Reasi (U-R) range, at the Range Police Headquarters, Udhampur.
He succeeds IPS officer Sarah Rizvi, who has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (Crime), J&K.
Upon assuming office, DIG underscored his commitment to ensuring dedicated, transparent and corruption free policing.
Highlighting the significance of public trust, DIG Sharma expressed confidence in further strengthening police-public relations and maintaining peace, law and order across the Range.
Meanwhile, IPS officer Mukund Tibrewal also assumed charge as SSP Reasi.
In a dignified ceremony, held at DPO Reasi, Tibrewal took charge from outgoing SSP Paramvir Singh.
He underscored the values of zeal, teamwork, and transparency, while stressing the vision of a corruption-free and drug-free society.
