Leh, 06, April, 2026: Have directed to launch a crackdown against drug traffickers and eliminate their hideouts, particularly keeping in view the onset of the tourist season in Ladakh. Consumption, selling, storing or facilitating the sale/storage of drugs in any form, will attract strict punishment. I would appeal to all social, cultural, educational and religious institutions like Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gompa Association, IKMT Kargil, Islamia School, Kargil, Anjuman Imamia, Leh and others to create awareness and caution among parents and youths against the horrific menace of drug abuse, that can destroy the future of your children. We are committed to ZERO TOLERANCE against drug abuse. The sanctity and serenity of Ladakh will not be compromised at any cost.
