Jammu 31 March, 2026 : ASK Foundation, the CSR arm of ASK Group, supports initiatives focused on sustainable livelihoods, community development, and disaster rehabilitation, working with credible partners to create long-term impact. The Centre for Youth Development and Activities (CYDA) India, a national development organisation established in 1999, has been actively engaged in relief, recovery, and rehabilitation efforts, empowering vulnerable communities through skill development, entrepreneurship, and community-based interventions.
In response to the recent floods in Jammu & Kashmir, ASK Foundation and CYDA India supported affected families through the distribution of ‘Back to Home’ kits and conducted Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDP) for women and youth to build their capacities in entrepreneurship and financial literacy. The current kit distribution marks a significant step towards long-term livelihood restoration.
As part of the initiative, more than 30 flood affected families were provided with EDP kits comprising essential tools such as umbrella-making machines with stand and motor, swing machines, juice/jack machines, handcarts, gas stoves, tables, tea stall kits, and cobbler toolkits. These kits are designed to enable families to start small-scale enterprises and achieve financial independence.
The event was graced by Dr. Tanvi Gupta, State Taxation Officer, as the Chief Guest. Ms. Mona Chalotra, Tehsildar, Jammu, attended as Guest of Honour on behalf of Jammu District Administration and shared valuable insights on administrative support and rehabilitation efforts. Mr. Harish Raina, noted educationist, highlighted the importance of education and skill development in rebuilding sustainable livelihoods.
Among other distinguished guests, Mr. Gurmeet Dutt, Working Chairman, All India Print Media, appreciated the initiative for community upliftment. Er. Shubham Kotwal, President, All India Print Media, emphasized the role of media and digital outreach in promoting entrepreneurship, while Mr. Kunwar Satyajit Baloria, Media Head (District Doda) extended his support. Ms. Sonal Aman Sharma, entrepreneur, inspired beneficiaries by sharing her journey and encouraging them to adopt entrepreneurial ventures.
Dr. Ravender kumar Tickoo, Principal and Dr. Ritu Magotra, Vice Principal of Government College for Women (GCW), extended immense support in organising the event. The programme was effectively conducted by Dr. Atiya Syed, NSS Programme Officer, GCW Parade Ground, Jammu, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the event. Mr. Rahul Kumar Attri, Project Executive, CYDA J&K, presented the work of CYDA India and played a key role in organising the event and delivered the vote of thanks.
This initiative reflects a strong commitment of ASK Foundation and CYDA India towards post-disaster rehabilitation through entrepreneurship and skill-based support, enabling affected communities to rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
