Srinagar, Mar 29: JDU Party President GM Shaheen said there is a need to make efforts to woo tourists during the peak tulip season. In a statement, he said that at a time when the world-famous Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden should have been witnessing massive tourist inflow, “the visible emptiness reflects the inability to protect and promote the region’s most critical economic sector.”
Shaheen stated that the tourism sector should not be pushed towards distress, leaving thousands of stakeholders, including hoteliers, transporters, shikara operators, guides, artisans, and daily wage workers abandoned.
He further questioned the NC government, asking why, despite repeated claims of normalcy and development, the most “important tourism season has failed to attract visitors.”
