Kupwara Police Holds Conference to Review DGSP/IGSP Recommendations

Kupwara: Kupwara Police on Sunday organised a district-level conference at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara to assess the implementation of recommendations issued during the DGSP/IGSP Conference.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Al Tahir Gilani (JKPS), who inaugurated the session, underscored the importance of translating directives into measurable outcomes, maintaining high standards of professionalism, and adopting a proactive approach to policing.

The conference was attended by SHOs, DOs, and officials from various police stations and posts across the district.

During the session, Senior Prosecuting Officer Kupwara, Masroor Qadir, briefed officers on procedural requirements under the NDPS Act, highlighting the critical role of maintaining an unbroken chain of custody to ensure conviction in narcotics-related cases.

DySP Operations Kupwara, Shivek Sharma (JKPS), spoke on the nexus between cross-border terrorism and drug trafficking, stressing the need for intelligence-driven and coordinated action.

DySP Headquarters Kupwara, Mubashir Niaz (JKPS), addressed issues related to crowd management and counter-radicalisation, focusing on early identification of at-risk individuals, enhanced community engagement, monitoring of online content, and timely interventions to prevent youth radicalisation.

The conference concluded with discussions on law and order, investigation quality, and capacity building, with officers directed to implement the recommendations in letter and spirit to further improve policing outcomes in the district.
