KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has informed that scheduled shutdowns of multiple 33 KV and 32 KV transmission lines will be carried out across various parts of Kashmir, resulting in temporary power supply disruptions in several areas on different dates in March and April 2026.

According to the official communication, shutdown of the 32 KV Nehalpora–Gulmarg line will be observed, affecting power supply to Tangmarg, Gulmarg, Mulgam, Khyber Base Station, Cable Car, Kulhama, Chandil, Krelweth, Wantoo, Reram and adjoining areas. The shutdown will be in place from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on April 02, 04 and 07, 2026.

Similarly, shutdown of the 33 KV Alusteng–Zakura line and 32 KV Takanwari line will be carried out, impacting Khalmulla, Pandach, Pathan Colony, Ahmad Nagar, Takenwari, Shanglipora and adjoining areas. The power shutdown will be effective from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on March 31 and April 06, 2026.

In another shutdown schedule, the 33 KV Illahibagh–Owantabhawan line will remain affected, leading to power disruption in Illahibagh and adjoining areas from 9:00 AM to 03:00 PM on March 31, 2026.

Likewise, shutdown of the 33 KV Wanganpora–Khanyar line will be observed, affecting Khanyar, Rainawari and adjoining localities from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM on April 04, 2026.

The 33 KV Sallar Tap line will also remain under shutdown, impacting Sallar, Kullar, Sofi Pora and nearby areas from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on April 01, 2026.

Further, shutdown of the 33 KV Awantipora–Sangam-II line will affect power supply to Saimoh, K Koot, Kaigam, Hari-Parigam, Chakoora, Gulzarpora, Panzgam, Railway and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM on March 31, 2026.

In addition, shutdown of the 33 KV Awantipora line will be carried out, affecting Lakipora, Awantipora, Beighpora, Midoora and adjoining areas from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM on April 01 and 04, 2026.

KPDCL has advised consumers in all affected areas to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled maintenance shutdowns and has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
