Mirwaiz condoles demise of Ghulam Nabi Zaki

Srinagar, Mar 23: Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq today expressed deep sorrow over the passing of veteran leader and former General Secretary of AAC, Ghulam Nabi Zaki of Sopore, who passed away today after a prolonged illness.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to the deceased, describing him as a lifelong associate of Shaheed-e-Millat and a respected colleague whose contribution to the Kashmir cause was immense and unwavering.

The Mirwaiz said that Ghulam Nabi Zaki remained deeply associated with the cause and endured repeated incarcerations with steadfast resolve. He described him as a selfless and committed political activist, a man of high moral virtues, whose life was marked by dedication and sacrifice.

Calling his demise a profound personal and organisational loss, the Mirwaiz said that his passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill.

He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’oon. May Allah grant him Jannat-ul-Firdous and give patience and strength to his family in this difficult time,” the Mirwaiz said.
