Ladakh Administration Orders Reshuffle of Headmasters, ZEOs | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The School Education Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh on Friday ordered the transfer and posting of several Headmasters (HMs) and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) with immediate effect, citing administrative requirements.

According to Order No. 34-LA(SED) of 2026 dated March 20, issued under e-file No. A/560/2021-EST SEC (N.GZ)-SED, the reshuffle has been approved by the competent authority to streamline functioning within the department.

As per the order, Tsewang Yangdol, Headmaster of Government High School Thiksey, has been transferred and posted as ZEO Zanskar with Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) powers, while Mohd Akbar, currently serving as ZEO Zanskar, has been posted as Senior Headmaster at Government High School Garkone.

Mohd Ali Elmee, ZEO Chiktan, has been transferred as Senior Headmaster at Government High School Apatee. Ghulam Ali, ZEPO Shargole, has been posted as ZEO Chiktan with DDO powers.

Konchok Phanday, Headmaster of High School Garkone, has been transferred as Headmaster of High School Yurgo and assigned additional charge of ZEPO Durbuk. Meanwhile, Sonam Stobdan, ZEPO Durbuk, has been given the charge of In-charge ZEO Durbuk following the superannuation of Mr Manzoor Hussain on March 31, 2026.

In other transfers, Dawa Putit has been moved from High School Bodhkharbu to High School Thiksey as Headmaster. Mohd Mussa, ZEPO Chiktan, has been given additional charge of Headmaster, High School Bodhkharboo alongside his existing duties.

Jigmet Stanzin, Headmaster of High School Kukshow, has been transferred as Headmaster of High School Kharnakling.
