Health and Medical Education Dept Released Tentative Seniority List

Tentative Seniority List of Chief Medical Officers and equivalents (Retired/In-service) of Health and Family Welfare (Gazetted) Service as on 01.01.2026.

Whereas, the Final seniority list of 70 Chief Medical Officers and equivalents was issued vide Government Order No. 213-HME of 2015 dated 10.06.2015 by the Health and Medical Education Department;

Whereas, on the recommendation of DPC/JKPSC, 95 BMOs/Medical Officers were regularized/confirmed as Chief Medical Officers and equivalents vide Govt. Order No. 296-JK(HME) of 2023 dated 10.04.2023.

Whereas, a final seniority list of only 24 Chief Medical Officers and equivalents was issued vide Government Order No. 796-JK(HME) of 2023 dated 26.09.2023;

Whereas, the names of 59 Chief Medical Officers and equivalents were inadvertently not incorporated in the aforementioned final seniority list, which now requires to be updated;

Whereas, the instant matter has been examined and it has been decided to incorporate the names of 59 leftover confirmed CMOs and equivalents (retired) in the updated seniority list;

Now, therefore, the tentative seniority list of Chief Medical Officers and equivalents of the J&K Health and Family Welfare (Gazetted) Service as it stood on 01.01.2026, forming Annexure-A of this notification is notified for information of all the concerned. Any CMO and equivalent who is aggrieved with the position assigned to him/her can make an appeal/file their objection under the relevant provisions of J&K Civil Service (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, before the Human

Resource Management (HRM) Branch of the Health and Medical Education Department within a period of 07 days from the date of issue of this Notification.

The tentative seniority list will be available on the official website of H&ME Department www.hme.jk.gov.in. The list shall also be available in the Directorate of Health Services Jammu/Kashmir and Directorate of Family Welfare.
