Speaking after a meeting with the Lieutenant Governor, Sadiq said they had raised the issue of several youths being booked after protests and urged authorities to consider their release, particularly in view of the approaching Eid festival.

“We are thankful to the LG for listening to us and explaining everything. We appealed to him as Eid is approaching and many of our boys are lodged in different jails. He has assured that the matter will be reviewed and action will be taken soon,” Sadiq said.

He said the MLAs also requested that FIRs registered against those involved in the protests be reconsidered and withdrawn. “We have appealed that the cases be reviewed and the youths be released with goodwill,” he added.
