Applications through online mode are invited from the eligible applicants for the Tenure Posts of Fellowship in Neonatology at 500 Bedded Children Hospital, Government Medical College, Srinagar.
About the Unit
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Postgraduate Department of Pediatrics, GMC Srinagar is accredited by National Neonatology Forum (NNF) of India as Level IIIA NICU. The Government Children Hospital, an associated Hospital of GMC Srinagar, is a 500-bedded hospital caring exclusively for pediatric patients with all subspecialties including Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Hematology, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Neurology. Postgraduate Department of Pediatrics is recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) and has been granted 17 postgraduate seats in Pediatrics (MD Course) per year.

The Division of Neonatology has an out-born unit and an inborn unit.
Out-born unit: 125 cribs with 24 ventilators including 2 HFOVs, 12 bubble CPAPs and HHFNCs. It has 7 high-end incubators, in-house Echocardiography/Ultrasonography machine, amplitude EEG (aEEG), Masimo based central monitoring system, transport ventilator etc.
Inborn unit: 50 cribs with 8 ventilators and 12 bubble CPAPs.
The unit runs high-risk neonate OPD twice per week.
The hospital also has a District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) where high-risk neonates are regularly followed up.

1) Appointment of the Candidates
The appointment and other service conditions for selected candidates shall be governed as per existing rules and regulations.
2) Qualification Required & Duration of Course

3) Mode of Submission of Application Form
a) Candidates must read the instructions and eligibility conditions before filling the online form.
b) Online application link will be available on the official website:
https://www.gmcs.ac.in/ from 10.03.2026 to 16.03.2026 (5:00 PM).
c) Candidates must register first before filling the application form.
d) After login, candidates must fill all required fields including personal details, contact information, educational qualifications and upload documents.
e) Candidates must upload scanned copies of original certificates/affidavits in PDF format (each file ≤ 1 MB).
f) Upload recent photograph, signature and thumb impression (≤ 700 KB in jpg/jpeg format).
g) Candidate name, parentage and date of birth must match Matriculation Certificate.
h) Candidates should apply well before the closing date to avoid website traffic issues.
i) No correction will be allowed once the application is submitted.
j) Applications with blurred photograph or illegible signature will be rejected.
k) Fake or fabricated information will lead to legal action under cyber/IT laws.

m) Candidates must ensure their email ID and phone number remain active during the selection process.
n) After successful payment of ₹1000 (Non-refundable) through Net Banking/UPI/Credit/Debit card, the application will be accepted provisionally.
4) Selection Process
Selection will be based on MCC based written test.
Duration: 1 hour
Questions: 60 Multiple Choice Questions.
Selected candidates must submit hard copies of application forms with original documents for verification after provisional selection.
If two or more candidates secure equal marks:
Higher MBBS percentage will be preferred.
Older candidate will be given preference.
5) Examination Date, Centre & Admit Card
Details regarding exam date, venue and admit cards will be notified on the college website:

No request for change of examination centre/date will be entertained.
6) Documents to be Submitted
Candidates must submit application forms along with self-attested copies of:
a) MBBS Marksheets (all phases)
b) MBBS Degree Certificate
c) MD/DNB/DCH Certificate
d) Internship Completion Certificate
e) Date of Birth Certificate
f) NMC/J&K Medical Council Registration Certificate
g) Address Proof
h) No Objection Certificate (for in-service candidates)
7) Other Terms & Conditions
Selected candidates must submit an affidavit attested by Judicial Magistrate stating that:
a) All information provided is true and correct.
b) If any information is found false, candidature will be cancelled and legal action may be taken.
c) Candidate will follow all rules of the college.
d) Candidate will remain disciplined and not indulge in unlawful activities.
e) After joining, the fellow cannot resign or leave the course mid-way.
