Search enters Day 2, body of terrorist recovered

Rajouri, Mar 11: Security forces on Wednesday continued an extensive search operation along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Jhangar area of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district, a day after the Army foiled an infiltration attempt and killed a suspected militant. The body of the slain militant, along with arms and ammunition, was recovered from the area during the ongoing searches.

Slain is believed to be a part of launch pad module of terrorist organisation and was part of a group of terrorists believed to be three to four in number.

Official sources said that this dedicated teams of Indian Army continued the search operation at forward locations where infiltration bid was made ahead of Anti Infiltration Obstacle System (AIOS).

The area continued to remain under cordon of army with extensive searches underway for area domination and clearance.

The forces on the other hand recovered body of one of the terrorist who was eliminated in operation yesterday.

” The body was lying in bushes that was recovered with careful SOPs.” official sources said adding that body was handed over to police by army for further legal proceedings.

A huge recovery of arms and ammunition has been made by army from the slain terrorist that include one AK rifle, two magazines, three hand grenades, two pistols, other incriminating material.

The terrorist has been identified as Hamza Yousaf who is believed to be on upper ranks in terror organisation Lashkar e Toiba (LeT) and was part of its launch pad module tasked for safe infiltration of terrorists.

The infiltration attempt was made few days ago, after intelligence agencies raised flags with apprehension that infiltration attempts could be made from LoC as an increased activity of terrorists has been reported on launch pads located ahead of LoC.

Earlier, a similar infiltration attempt was made by terrorists from Rajouri sector four days ago with army troops successfully foiling the attempt, pushing back terrorists.
