9 injured as vehicle crashes into tree in Tral

Pulwama, Mar 10: Nine people were injured, one of them critically, after a passenger vehicle crashed into a poplar tree in the Amirabad area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday, officials said.

Officials said the accident occurred when a Sumo vehicle reportedly lost control and rammed into a roadside poplar tree at Amirabad, leaving several passengers injured.

Locals and emergency responders rushed the injured to Sub-District Hospital Tral for initial treatment.

Block Medical Officer Tral, Dr Jawahira, said four of the injured were later referred to hospitals in Srinagar for specialised treatment due to the nature of their injuries.

Among those referred to Srinagar is Mushtaq Ahmad Gojri, 45, son of Nazir Ahmad and a resident of Mahchoo Tral, who is stated to be in critical condition.
