SSP Reasi directs strict surveillance on terror OGWs

Rajouri, Mar 10: Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Paramvir Singh on Tuesday directed field forces to maintain strict surveillance on terror Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and enhance operational preparedness during his visit to the remote and security-sensitive Gulabgarh area.

He was accompanied by Additional SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed, SDPO Mahore Parul Bhardwaj and DySP PC Mahore-Chassana Azer Ali Shah.

Police stated that a public interaction meeting was held at Gulabgarh which was attended by local residents, religious scholars and other respectable members of the area.

SSP Reasi patiently heard the genuine grievances and concern raised by the locals and assured them that every possible assistance would be provided by the police.

He also emphasised the importance of strong police-public cooperation encouraging residents to remain vigilant and share timely information to help maintain peace and security in the area.

During the visit, SSP Reasi also met members of the Village Defence Guards (VDGs) in presence of officials from the Indian Army.

The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening coordination between police, VDGs, and the Indian Army to ensure effective area domination and timely sharing of information.

SSP Reasi Paramita Singh during the visit also interacted with the police personnel deployed in the area and thoroughly inspected the existing infrastructure.

He reviewed the availability and condition of arms, ammunition and other essential equipment to ensure sustained operational readiness.

Considering the challenging terrain and security sensitivities of the region, SSP Reasi stressed the need for frequent mock drills, long-range patrols and Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) to maintain a high level of preparedness and ensure a prompt response to any emerging security threats.

He also directed officers to maintain strict surveillance on Over Ground Workers (OGWs), strengthen police–public cooperation, and keep a vigilant watch on weather-induced migratory movements which may influence the security environment.
