
Jammu, Mar 8: Jammu Nawabs registered a four-wicket victory over Rajouri Indians in a league match of the YSS-JKSC Cricket League played at MA Stadium here on Sunday.
Chasing a modest target of 118 runs, Jammu Nawabs, as per a statement, reached 119 for 6 in 16 overs to seal the win with four overs to spare.
Earlier, Rajouri Indians, who won the toss and opted to bat first, were bowled out for 117 runs in 19.3 overs.
Kashif Dar top-scored with 28 runs off 25 balls, while Faizal Dev contributed 20 and Anwar-ul-Haq chipped in with 19.
For Jammu Nawabs, Ishtiyaq Elahi Robby delivered a match-defining spell, claiming four wickets for just 12 runs in his four overs. Vijay Dogra supported him well with three wickets, restricting the Rajouri side to a modest total.
In reply, Jammu Nawabs got off to an aggressive start with Karan smashing 39 runs off just 20 balls, including eight boundaries.
Shreyans anchored the chase with a steady 33 off 29 deliveries, while Vanshaj added 17 runs.
Despite a brief fightback by Rajouri Indians led by Royal Singh who picked up three wickets, Jammu Nawabs comfortably chased down the target, with Vijay Dogra remaining unbeaten on 18 and Sunil Sharma finishing the game with a boundary.
Earlier, Rajouri Indians captain Suhail Dar won the toss and elected to bat, while the match was officiated by umpires Harsh Nayar and Ranga.
The YSS-JKSC Cricket League is being organised to promote grassroots cricket and provide competitive exposure to emerging players across the region.
