
SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday chaired a high-level review meeting in Jammu to assess the security situation across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, urging communities to remain calm and united.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, senior officials, and all Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police.
Addressing the officials, the Lieutenant Governor said peace is a collective responsibility and appealed to all communities to uphold harmony. He commended what he described as the unwavering and coordinated resolve of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces and civil administration in safeguarding law and order.
“I urge all communities to remain calm and united in this hour. I salute the unwavering, synchronised resolve of our Police, security forces and civil administration upholding law and order,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor also said the government is closely monitoring the situation in West Asia. He added that senior Union Territory officials are in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety and welfare of residents and students from Jammu and Kashmir.
