
Rajouri, Feb 22: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic, Jammu Rural, Farooq Qaiser on Sunday said that Mughal road continued to remain closed for all kinds of vehicular movement.
People have been asked not to travel Kashmir through Mughal Road until further notice.
Qaiser, in an official statement, said, ìIn the interest of passenger safety, Mughal Road continues to remain closed for all kinds of vehicular movement. The general public is advised not to undertake any Kashmir-bound travel via this route until further notice.î
ìThe status of the road will be communicated as soon as it is reopened for traffic. Stay safe and plan your journey accordingly,î Qaiser said.
On February 20, the teams of Project Sampark from Bufliaz to Peer Ki Gali and Project Beacon from Shopian to Peer Ki Gali had stated to have completed the operation of snow clearance from National Highway 701A to open the road.
DG MoRTH V K Rajawat along with Chief Engineer Project Sampark and Beacon were present during the road opening at Peer Ki Gali.
It was said that the road was traffic worthy, however, the people were requested to follow traffic advisories issued by the district administration Poonch and Shopian.
