Govt’s decision on regularisation of daily wagers welcome step: EJAC

Srinagar, Feb 21: Senior Trade Union leader and President EJAC Fayaz Ahmad Shabnam in a statement issued to the press welcomed the decision of the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah regarding the regularisation of the daily wagers.

Shabnam said that the assurance given by the Chief Minister on the floor of the Legislative Assembly is a welcome step and the decision though taken late has emerged as a ray of hope for the thousands of daily wagers who have been crying hoarse and struggling hard since years together for their regularisation, said a press release.

Shabnam wished that the government should fulfill its commitment and honour its own decision as early as possible. The senior trade union leader said that EJAC has always supported every positive move of the government taken in the larger interest of the employee fraternity and the recent decision for the daily wagers is also hailed by EJAC.

He urged the Chief Minister to start the process of the regularisation in a time bound manner so that this human issue gets resolved once for all as this category of the employees has suffered a lot along with their families.
