Three Tourism Projects Completed in Ramgarh Under Rs 307 Lakh Capex: CM Omar | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah informed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly that three tourism projects have been completed and one is under execution in the Ramgarh Constituency at a total cost of Rs 307.12 lakh under the Capex Budget.

Replying to a question raised by Devinder Kumar Manyal, moved on his behalf by Surjeet Singh Slathia during Question Hour, the Chief Minister said the Tourism Development Plan for 2026–27 is yet to be formulated. He added that new projects for Ramgarh will be considered for 2026–27, subject to feasibility under established tourism norms, availability of funds and requisite approvals.

He further told the House that Rs 123.41 lakh was sanctioned under the Capex Budget for development and beautification of the Sidh Goria Temple, including site beautification, parking and toilet facilities, pond development, installation of high-mast lights and allied works, all of which have been physically completed.

An additional Rs 100 lakh was sanctioned for development of the Baba Chamlyal Shrine, covering flooring and pathways, lighting and allied works, which have also been completed, he said.

Abdullah, who also holds the Tourism portfolio, said the department promotes the annual melas at both sites through flex hoardings, newspaper advertisements and booklets to boost religious tourism. Development of other religious sites, including Ganga Mata Temple, Banu Temple and Ram Temple, will be considered in future subject to feasibility, funds and approvals, he added.
