SRINAGAR: An attempted infiltration by militants along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri was successfully prevented by alert Indian Army troops on Thursday, the White Knight Corps said.
Based on intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance, troops detected suspicious movement in the Nathua Tibba area of the Sunderbani sector along the LoC during the early hours, the corps added.
The army responded with precise and controlled fire, thwarting the infiltration attempt. “Troops were suitably repositioned and re-oriented to ensure comprehensive control of the area through integrated ground and aerial surveillance. A high state of operational alert continues across the sector,” the corps stated in a post on X.
Officials said a search operation was launched immediately after the incident and was ongoing at the time of the latest reports.
