Day After Mega Winter Carnival Clean Up Drive Launched at Karewan Park Lolab

Lolab: Authorities on Monday conducted a sanitation drive at Karewan Park a day after successful conduct of mega Winter Carnival.

The drive was carried out under the guidance of Range Officer Sogam Athar Parvaiz and Block Development Officer Sogam Abdul Rashid. Officials and field staff of the Rural Development Department Block Sogam, in coordination with personnel of the Forest Department, participated in the operation.

Teams collected and segregated waste, cleared litter from lawns and walkways, and ensured proper disposal to maintain the environmental integrity of the park. The exercise was aimed at preserving the site’s natural landscape following the heavy footfall witnessed during the carnival.

Officials said the initiative was also intended to sensitise visitors about the importance of responsible waste disposal and environmental stewardship. They stressed that sustained cleanliness at public recreational spots depends on joint efforts by departments and public cooperation.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to protecting green spaces in the area and maintaining Karewan Park as a clean and accessible destination for visitors.
