SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday called upon citizens to harness their collective power for societal transformation and to chart a path for a prosperous India that inspires the world. He was speaking at a commemorative event marking the 508th Sant Kabir Nirvan Diwas, organised by the Shiromani Sant Kabir Bhavan at Chak Avtara Bishnah, Jammu.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted Sant Kabir’s enduring wisdom, saying his message offers guidance for societal unity while promoting both spiritual and material progress. He emphasised that India’s strength lies in integrating tradition and technology, describing it as a “perfect blueprint for 21st century success and prosperity.”

“India is stepping forward to guide the world toward peace and prosperity through its great saintly tradition and timeless values,” Sinha said, citing the relevance of the ancient mantra “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world as one family — in an era of global divisions.

He urged all sections of society to work toward reducing economic gaps, eliminating social divisions, and embracing inclusion and constitutional values to achieve true harmony. Responding to public demands, he reiterated the Government of India’s commitment to address reservation in promotion and to grant a gazetted holiday for Sant Kabir Jayanti in the Union Territory.
