Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Greets Pandits on Hearath, Mourns Recent Deaths in Valley | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday extended greetings to the Kashmiri Pandit community on the occasion of Hearath, while also conveying condolences over several recent bereavements in the Valley.

In a statement, the Mirwaiz said the festival reflects Kashmir’s long-standing traditions of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and communal harmony embedded in the region’s social and cultural ethos.

He expressed sorrow over the demise of Khawaja Ghulam Ahmad Mir of Kangan, father-in-law of Fayaz Ahmad Kaloo, Editor-in-Chief of Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Uzma. He offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul.

The Mirwaiz also mourned the passing of Mohammad Sultan Shah of Chandpora associated with Jamia Masjid Srinagar and Mohammad Rajab Dar of Mir Colony, Lal Bazar, extending sympathies to their families and praying for eternal peace for the deceased.

He reiterated prayers for forgiveness and strength for the bereaved families.
