SRINAGAR: The Jammu Kashmir Government on Friday said that there is presently no proposal to further enhance the widow pension under the Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS), Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) or under the National Social Assistance Programme.

In response to an unstarred question (AQ No. 1314) raised by MLA Dr Devinder Kumar, the Minister in-charge of the Social Welfare Department informed the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly that widow pensions under ISSS and IGNWPS have already been revised, along with other components, through Government Order No. 96-JK (SWD) of 2025 dated 3 April 2025 for eligible recipients.

The government further stated that the current age-wise monthly pension rates for eligible widows are Rs 1,250 for those aged 40–59 years, Rs 1,500 for those aged 60–79 years, and Rs 2,000 for beneficiaries aged 80 years and above.
