
SRINAGAR: Police on Sunday apprehended a shopkeeper for allegedly selling kerosene oil and diesel illegally in Imamsahib area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official said that a Police Station Imamsahib conducted a check during which a shop was found involved in unauthorized sale of petroleum products.
During the inspection, police seized around 250 litres of kerosene oil and nearly 300 litres of diesel from the shop.
The shopkeeper was taken into custody, while the seized fuel was confiscated on the spot, official said adding that, a case is being processed and an FIR will be registered under relevant sections of law.
Further investigation into the matter is underway. (KNC)
