
Baramulla, Feb 04: Security arrangements have been significantly intensified across Police District Handwara in view of the upcoming visit of the Union Home Minister (UHM) to Jammu and Kashmir.
As part of the heightened security measures, Handwara Police on Tuesday conducted naka checking at Chotipora Handwara and several other locations across the district to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
Police officials said the checking drives are aimed at preventing any untoward incident and ensuring a peaceful environment during the high-profile visit. Additional deployments have been made at strategic points, with increased surveillance and patrolling across sensitive areas.
The police and other security agencies have appealed to residents to cooperate with the security personnel during the checking process and to carry valid identification documents to avoid inconvenience.
